These Triangle restaurants and bars are requiring proof of COVID vaccine to dine indoors
As the coronavirus pandemic’s latest wave shows no signs of slowing down, the list of restaurants, bars and venues requiring proof of vaccination status continues to grow.
What started as a trickle of announcements is picking up steam as business owners try to protect their staff and diners.
“Many of us have children too young for the vaccine and loved ones who are immuno-compromised,” said the owners of Alley Twenty Six Aug. 21 in announcing its new rules. “While there are no foolproof protections, nor perfect solutions, there is also no reason to do nothing.”
They also hope to stave off business-crushing shutdowns with many still recovering from protocols enacted during the first waves of the pandemic.
“Local businesses cannot endure another shutdown, and we’re simply doing our part to ensure that does not happen,” said the owners of Durty Bull Brewing Co., in Durham. “Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve taken all necessary steps to keep our staff and loyal customers safe. This is the next step in that process.”
Restaurants and bars in most parts of the Triangle also are under mask mandates, including Raleigh, Cary, unincorporated parts of Wake County, Durham County and Orange County.
Many restaurants and bars say those customers who don’t want to show their vaccination status, or who haven’t yet gotten the vaccine, can continue to partake on outdoor patios.
“Here’s to everyone dedicated to doing their part in this ongoing fight, those continuing to support local, and all of us looking forward to brighter times together,” The Wine Feed’s owners said in their announcement.
