Kathy lives on the second floor of her building and has a small patio attached to her home. When a mama duck went looking for the perfect nesting spot, she took one look at a cozy chair covered with a blanket and basically decided, "That'll do."

Since then, Kathy has been keeping a close eye on the soon-to-be mom and sharing updates on TikTok, and now we're all fully invested. There are already five eggs, and we can't wait to see the ducklings hatch!

Viewers Are Fully Invested in This Mama Duck

It didn't take long for people to become emotionally attached to this unexpected patio guest, and the comments say it all. One commenter joked, "She's like, thanks for the comfy blanket and covered porch, girl. She's living it up now!" @Alltheguacamole added, "That's her patio now, LOL!"

@scha235 said, "The duck family you never knew you needed. Congrats."

"Work smarter, not harder, LOL! Blanket, check. Cover from weather, check. High perch, check. Not having to lift a stick, check!" shared one commenter, and we thought the same thing.

@bumbleapocathery shared, "Second floor? When she is ready, you will have to lead them down the stairs." Kathy replied, "Yes, for sure. Not sure she thought about that, lol!" A few other commenters shared that the babies will have no problem jumping.

Everybody was jealous when @Mandaklewis shared, "I have a mama duck that nests at my neighbor's across the street and then brings me her babies. She just brought her next batch over today."

Another commenter said exactly what we were thinking: "This is why I have TikTok."
