Michigan's Binder Park Zoo Is Holding a Naming Contest for Its New Baby Sloth
There's nothing quite as cute as an animal with an adorable name. Whether it's silly and random or perfectly fitting, some of the best names are the ones that express an animal's personality or leave you wondering how they even came about.
It's even better when you get to help choose the name yourself. And if you ever wished to be a part of the process, one Michigan zoo is giving fans the chance to weigh in on a name for its newest baby resident. With voting already underway and a baby sloth in need of its very own name, now's your chance to cast your vote.

Binder Park Zoo's Newest Resident Is an Adorable Baby Sloth
Over the weekend, Binder Park Zoo took to social media to notify fans of the exciting new baby sloth arrival. And while the zoo waits to find out if the little one is a boy or a girl, they've gone ahead and curated a list of names they think will fit perfectly.
"We need your help… and trust us, you're going to want to be part of this one," Binder Park Zoo shared in a Facebook post.
"Our adorable baby sloth has officially stolen hearts, and now it's time to give this little superstar the perfect name! While we're still waiting to find out if it's a boy or girl, we've chosen three names that fit either way-and now the decision is up to you!"

How to Vote
With voting already underway and set to end on Thursday, May 14, there's not much time left to weigh in. To choose a name, simply cast your vote here with a minimum $5 donation. And to sweeten your chances of getting your favorite name picked, every $1 equals one vote toward your selection. The winning name will be announced on Friday, May 15 at noon.
As for the names, the choices have been narrowed down to:
- Chia
- Coco
- Rio
