Why cats follow their parents everywhere
It's not totally unusual for a cat to be extra interested in everything their parents do. In fact, it's a sign of their love, affection, and curiosity.
According to PetMD, cats following their parents around is considered "normal behavior." "While cats are often seen as independent," they explained. "Many form strong bonds with their humans."
Some other reasons a cat can follow their parents around include being hungry, wanting extra attention, or feeling sick and seeking your protection. If a parent does not want their cat to follow them somewhere, some options include closing the door or installing a cat gate in areas where the cat can't follow.
But some ways to help keep a cat happy include playing with them, giving them extra pets, and other forms of attention. It's also best to speak with a veterinarian for additional information and tips specific to your cat.
