Golden Retriever's Sweet Reaction to Thinking He Lost His Mom at the Park Is Melting Hearts
There's nothing worse than losing your mom in a public place (I'm still scarred from losing my mom in Target circa 1998). This is true for pups as well, as we see when Maui the Golden Pup thinks he loses his pawrent at the park. His adorable reaction to finally seeing his mom again is utter sweetness.
"POV: Maui thought he lost me and searched for me everywhere," Maui's mom wrote in the text overlay of the YouTube Shorts video.

In the beginning of the heartwarming clip, we see the sweet golden retriever Maui searching all around the park, concerned as he doesn't see him mom anywhere. As he nervously continues to peek around and pace around in an attempt to spot his momma, he at long last sees her and immediately begins to smile, running directly for her. His entire demeanor changes as he realizes his mom is still there and that he's safe. Thank goodness!
'We Are All They Have and All Their Life'
YouTube viewers love Maui's sweet reaction. It currently has over 853,000 views, 23,000 likes and over 170 comments. In the comments, viewers reacted to how relieved Maui looked to seeing his mom.
"That happy face and wagging tail says it all," observed one YouTube viewer in a comment on the video.
"MOM! Where are you? Oh, there you are!!" exclaimed a different viewer.
"Oh that little heart must've been pounding with anxiety," commented another person.
Other commenters also mused about how hard it is for dogs who are left behind from their pawrents.
"This moment is adorable but it makes me think about all the dogs who get dumped and keep looking to see if their owner is around," said someone else.
In any event, Maui is safe and sound, and we're so glad he has such a loving and attentive home. You're okay, Maui. Mom isn't going anywhere. You are so loved.
