Bulldog Realizes Mom Is Talking to the Vet - and Her Dramatic Reaction Is Too Funny
Both of my dogs dread going to the vet. The second they catch sight of the parking lot, they get nervous. My Dachshund starts shaking, and my Pug mix refuses to go inside by planting his ample tush on the ground. Needless to say, I'm glad we usually only go for their yearly appointment.
Pancake the Bulldog seems to have the same aversion to anything veterinary-related. She heard her mom on the phone with the office and the look on her face spoke volumes.

Awkward Moments - AstroMusic
In the TikTok from @thebabypancake, the Bulldog beauty's mom had the vet's office on speaker phone. The conversation seemed to involve collecting some sort of sample from Pancake. The curious canine was on the couch listening to the dialogue, where she slowly pieced together who was on the other end of the phone.
"The moment Pancake realized we were calling the vet," the onscreen text read, with the caption adding, "Pancake said, 'Reschedule without me'."
No words from Pancake were needed. Her expression clearly showed fear mixed with revulsion, putting her distaste for the vet on full display. The fur baby finally couldn't listen any longer and jumped off the couch in protest.
Followers got a kick out of Pancake's reaction and felt she was justified in her response.
"Waffles the Bulldog just posted, 'Go hype up the post for love and support with Pancake'," one joked.
"How do they know something is up, but they sure do! Crazy. Oh no Pancake!" another commented.
"Pancake said, 'I gotta dip, goodbye now'," a follower posted.
"She said, 'Immediately no'," someone shared.
Why Dogs Don't Like the Vet
Many dogs experience anxiety during a vet visit. Their nervousness can begin on the ride over, almost like they sense where they're headed.
Past traumatic experiences can cause this fear. If your dog had to endure a previous painful or invasive procedure at a vet's office, returning to that location can bring it all back.

Being around other nervous dogs in the waiting room can also raise your pooch's anxiety. Add to that the sights and smells of a doctor's office that may be foreign to your dog or recall negative memories, and it's easy to understand why they get scared.
Some ways to help your dog relax include calm reassurance, positive reinforcement through treats, and booking appointments during quiet, less busy times with your vet.
Pancake's reaction was very common and completely understandable. Hopefully her mom was able to smooth things over after the call.
