Piano-Playing Miniature Therapy Horses Are Bringing Pure Joy to Hospital Patients

Hospital goers and people in need are getting treated to an unforgettable experience: miniature horses playing piano. They visit hospitals and fairs, bringing joy to many people by playing ridiculous songs on a tiny keyboard.

However, as much as this is putting smiles on the faces of those in need, some people on social media are also finding it to be totally bizarre.

All this is part of an organization called Mini Therapy Horses, which Victoria Nodiff-Netanel founded in 2008. Her organization's goal is to do equine-assisted therapy with miniature horses.

They will visit many hospitals around the Los Angeles area, comforting children and people after surgery or helping veterans find a sense of calm, comfort, and happiness.

As this footage shows, these miniature therapy horses are bringing smiles to many people with their tricks and piano playing. Although their piano playing is very discordant, to say the least, the sheer silliness of it all is putting smiles on plenty of people's faces.

When Miniature Therapy Horses Sit at the Piano, Hospital Rooms Fill With Laughter

Overall, viewers and social media have some pretty mixed reactions to these piano-playing miniature horses.

While some viewers are saying that this video is making them laugh, it's not out of joy at seeing a miniature pony play the piano, but rather out of how darkly funny and surreal a spectacle this is: "Nothing makes me laugh as consistently as those Lynchian horror videos of people waking up from surgery to see a mini horse playing the piano by their bedside."

Other viewers are noting that in the age of AI-generated imagery, seeing something like this is a lot less special and magical than it might've been before, while also joking about how this causes modern viewers to not really believe in magic anymore: "First AI and now mini horses! How's a musician supposed to make a living!"

Some Instagram viewers did find these horses to be adorable and comforting, although they did not like the discord into sound of their piano playing: "Those horses are sweet and adorable, but their keyboard music is not pleasant at all, LOL."

However, some viewers did find everything about these piano-playing miniature horses to be uplifting: "Not gonna lie… This just made my whole day better, LOL. That's straight-up joy right there."

As strange a sight as this is, and not everyone will get on board with it, there is no denying that in this Instagram video, these piano-playing miniature ponies are bringing smiles, laughter, and joy to people in need.
