Regardless of their breed, age, personality, or past, every dog deserves a family. These loyal animals are the very definition of unconditional love, but it's not always the people who rescue them who show them what true safety feels like. Sometimes, it's another dog who changes everything for a nervous rescue pup.

This is precisely what has happened for one of the Beagles rescued from Ridglan Farms last month. The reserved rescue dog, now named Goop, has been understandably slow to open up in his Florida foster home with @thatdoggirl, but when he's with his English Bulldog brother, Kevin, he can finally relax. Watching two rescue dogs finding comfort in one another's presence is truly the greatest gift.

This is the kind of love and safety that every dog deserves to experience. As a rescue dog, Kevin can relate to the kind of stress and uncertainty that Goop has been facing, and he's ready to be there for his new foster brother. Could there be a more perfect match?

Viewer @stupid_cupid91 left everyone reaching for the tissues when she wrote, "I love this!!! All the beagles need a buddy. They were together for so long. This is how they heal. They need a friend to teach them how to dog."

"I feel like the Bulldog is saying, 'I got you,'" @kellyanne_326 agreed. Witnessing a dog's unconditional love and acceptance for another pup could move pet parents to tears, and Goop's proud foster mom is no exception.

Dali, AKA @_thatdoggirl_, admitted, "I've been crying since we picked [the rescue Beagles] up yesterday." No one can blame her at all! It's heartbreaking to consider that dogs are raised in cages to be sold to laboratories, especially gentle, docile dogs like Beagles. Fortunately, however, 1,499 other dogs like Goop are getting a fresh start at life.

Rescuing the Ridglan Farms Beagles

On April 30, several animal rescue organizations reached an agreement to purchase 1,500 Beagles from Ridglan Farms, a dog breeder in Wisconsin that supplied Beagles to laboratories and research facilities. This significant victory followed protests at the breeding facility, where demonstrators clashed with police on two occasions, leading to a heavy police presence and several individuals requiring hospitalization.

Ridglan Farms has also agreed to surrender its breeding license by July 1, though it's unclear how many dogs are still in their care. Even so, this news-worthy rescue has brought much-needed attention to the animal welfare world, which can hopefully lead to even more dogs like Goop finding their foster and forever families.
