After one man was arrested at a Raleigh hotel on murder and conspiracy charges, Durham police on Wednesday were continuing their investigation of Kamari Munerlyn's killing.

Members of two U.S. Marshals task forces arrested Devon Maurice Fowler, 28, of Durham at the Extended Stay America on Bluestone Drive in Raleigh on Tuesday night, police said.

The conspiracy charge against Fowler indicates police are seeking at least one other suspect.

Kamari died Sunday after someone shot into a Honda Pilot around 5 p.m. Nine others in the SUV were unhurt.

Kamari’s mother, Felicia Parker, had stated she knew who shot her son.

Police have declined to discuss her claim or details of their investigation.

Fowler has several criminal convictions, according to state records, but none are for crimes against people.

Fowler’s first conviction was in 2007, when he was 18, for misdemeanor breaking or entering and misdemeanor larceny.

In 2015, Fowler was convicted of felony possession of stolen goods and felony destroying evidence.

A judge gave Fowler a suspended sentence, but that was revoked in 2016, and he went to prison.

Fowler was released last October.
