Fire damages Gray Avenue home; 3 displaced, none hurt
Durham firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire at a home on Gray Avenue Wednesday night that damaged the house and displaced three adults.
No one was hurt.
According to Durham Fire Department Deputy Chief Chris Iannuzzi, DFD was dispatched to the fire at 706 Gray Avenue at 5:58 p.m. after multiple callers reported a house on fire.
On arrival firefighters reported a one story home with moderate smoke visible from the eaves on the right side. A kitchen fire was quickly extinguished, but it caused a significant damage to the kitchen and smoke damage throughout the house.
The displaced adults were being assisted by the American Red Cross. Firefighters remained on the scene well into Wednesday night and the cause of the blaze remained under investigation.
