Police on the Hunt for Man With 'Good Looks' Who Resembles Travis Kelce
Cops in New Hampshire are on the hunt for a thief who they say bears a striking resemblance to a certain NFL superstar.
"GUESS WHAT PAL, you may look like Travis Kelce, TE for the Kansas City Chiefs and, possibly his more well known claim to fame, current fiancé of Taylor Swift, but your good looks and cool sty (kids call it ‘sty' I think.) can't get you outta this one!" the Salem Police Department posted via Facebook on Wednesday, June 24.
Authorities shared three photos of the man, who is accused of stealing a purse and then using credit cards found in the purse to buy items at Best Buy.
"Today we have a suspect that apparently doesn't know he can't take others things," the post said. "Purses. Money. Bucket hats. Ok, the bucket hat may be his. I'm just jealous. My friend ‘borrowed' mine 9 years ago on a golf trip and I never saw it again. Unbelievable."
Given the undeniable likeness, police even joked that maybe it was Kelce who they were searching for.
"Are we sure this isn't Travis, actually?" they wrote. "Anyone know where he's been? Have times been tough? I mean I know the Chiefs missed the playoffs…."
The Salem police added, "Na, it can't be. He's a Swifty. He wouldn't do this."
Anybody with information about the Kelce doppelganger is urged to contact the Salem Police Department.
The post's comments section was a field day for jokes and fodder about the alleged criminal, with many referencing Kelce's upcoming wedding to Swift.
"It could be Travis. They do have a wedding coming up… can you imagine how much it costs to rent out Madison Square Garden?!" one person wrote.
Another said, "You're telling me this isn't Travis Kelce making a run for it before the big day?"
"It totally looks like himfirst thing I thought when I saw it," a third person wrote. "The entire swifty nation will solve this one ha!"
As for the real Kelce, he's rumored to be getting married to Swift soon at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
The New York Timesreported on Wednesday that a permit has been filed with the city to close the streets around MSG from July 2 to midday July 4 for an event on July 3.
A city official confirmed to the Times that Madison Square Garden is planning to host a wedding on July 3. The report also claimed that Amtrak police officers, who patrol the station underneath the World's Most Famous Arena, were told to expect a wedding that weekend.
