2021 Christmas TV guide: When to watch Rudolph, Charlie Brown and classic movies

We’re back with our 2021 guide to the most wonderful TV time of the year.

We have all your favorite holiday TV specials — like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” — plus classic movies from “Elf” to “It’s A Wonderful Life,” and of course, all the Hallmark, Lifetime and Netflix romantic holiday flicks.

We’ll be updating this guide throughout December as more holiday specials populate the schedule, so bookmark this and check back often.

We’re sticking mostly to prime-time programming on broadcast networks and basic cable, plus new streaming movies and specials.

This time of year, Hallmark Channel and the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel start showing Christmas and Hanukkah movie repeats pretty much 24/7, so we’ll list new ones here, but not the repeats. And remember that we’re also getting original holiday movies from Lifetime, BET and ION now.

If you miss a broadcast network airing of something like “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” or “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” don’t worry, because those will likely air multiple times in December. Check back with us often.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas”: Of special interest is this Peanuts holiday special, which is now owned by Apple TV+. It will air once on PBS on Dec. 19, but if you want to see it after that, you’ll need to sign up for an Apple TV+ account, which is $5 per month.

Now, here’s the rest of the schedule.
