Global Chat Is Back In Clash Of Clans As World Cup Content Rolls In

Clash of Clans just brought back the most-requested feature in the franchise's history. Global Chat is live again, and Supercell timed the return to the FIFA World Cup26 with a campaign that brings Thierry Henry, Kaka, and Bastian Schweinsteiger into the game alongside it.

Global Chat was removed from Clash of Clans years ago over moderation concerns, and players have been asking for it back ever since. The June 17 relaunch pairs the community feature with a football-themed Clan War League event and a collaboration campaign featuring three of the sport's most celebrated legends.

Clan-based games live and die by their social layers. Clash of Clans built its foundational community before other communication tools existed, and Global Chat was where that community formed its earliest identity. Removing it didn't kill the game, but bringing it back, with better moderation infrastructure, reopens a social space that helps glue communities together.

The FIFA World Cup 26 timing lands in a summer when people want to talk about football with strangers online, which should somewhat help drown out unwanted topics in the global chat.

The collaboration also comes with a short film titled "Winning Is In Your Hands," featuring Henry, Kaka, and Schweinsteiger, depicting the three in a documentary that explores their careers and shows how their hands contribute to their success. The three have since appeared on other Clash of Clans videos on the official Clash of Clans YouTube channel.
