Lisa Kudrow Clarifies Stance on ‘Friends' ‘On a Break' Debate

Lisa Kudrow is weighing in on the long-running "Friends" debate over whether Ross and Rachel were "on a break" when he slept with someone else.

“The Comeback” actress, who starred as Phoebe for all 10 seasons of the beloved sitcom, reignited the argument among fans after she discussed the issue during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon".

When host Jimmy Fallon asked for her new take on the controversy, Kudrow, 62, teased, “I'm afraid now to bring it up."

“What is your take? Were they on a break?” Fallon asked, to which she responded, “Well, no. But it's beyond that. It's beyond break or not - he was a bad boyfriend.”

As the audience cheered, Kudrow said, "Oh, you agree! Oh, I feel better, Thank you. Thank you for this. Thank you, all of you.”

“We did the reunion just like five years ago… we were all so like, ‘They were on a break.’ Like, ‘Rachel, that hysterical shrew, not letting him sleep with someone and won't get back together,'” she said before adding, “She shouldn't have gotten back with him because he was horrible.”

“To me, it's like, I don't care if he slept with three other women or no other women. You had a crisis at work, so you weren't available for a few nights, and he flipped out. And you're like, ‘Wow!’" she concluded.

When asked if she had spoken with her former costar Schwimmer about her thoughts, she remained mum and Falloon teased, "He knows now."

After "The Tonight Show" shared the clip on Instagram, fans were divided in the comment section.

"Ross is a walking Red Flag," one fan wrote in support of Kudrow while another added, "Ross was so jealous and wouldn't let her shine ✨ bad boyf."

However, another fan saw things differently and posted, "Ross wasn't a red flag 😭😭😭 he was the sweetest 😩😩😩"

Kudrow herself took to the comment section to clarify her stance, writing, "BUT!!! Later he did tell her she should go to Paris. He became a good partner! He did."

As "Friends" fans may recall, Ross and Rachel ended up together after she got off the plane to Paris and confessed her love for him.
