Rapper 50 Cent to replace Chris Brown as headliner for first day of Dreamville Festival
Dreamville Festival, which will take over Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park this weekend, announced Monday that rapper 50 Cent will replace Chris Brown as one of the first day’s headline performers.
Brown is no longer performing due to “unforeseen circumstances,” festival organizers said on social media.
50 Cent, known for hit singles like “In Da Club,” “21 Questions” and “Window Shopper,” is also the executive producer of the STARZ TV series “Power” and its spinoffs. He performed in Raleigh last year on his “The Final Lap Tour.”
In another festival change, R&B singer Muni Long (“Made For Me,” “Hrs & Hrs”) is no longer performing Sunday. Instead, Greensboro native and rapper Hunxho will perform.
Dreamville Festival is expecting thousands of fans Saturday and Sunday as hip-hop and R&B artists like SZA, Nicki Minaj, J.I.D., Lil Yachty, Sexyy Red and the festival’s creator, J. Cole, take the stage.
Last year’s festival brought 100,000 people to Raleigh over two days. Dreamville Festival Week kicks off Wednesday with several free events.
Tickets are still on sale at dreamvillefest.com.
