Here’s everything to know about “Where The Crawdads Sing.”
What is ‘Crawdads’ about?
The “Where The Crawdads Sing” film is based on the 2018 bestselling novel of the same name by author Delia Owens.
Described on the official movie website as a “captivating mystery,” the story follows Kya, who was abandoned as a young girl and left to raise herself in the “dangerous” marshlands of North Carolina.
Rumors about Kya, also known as the “marsh girl,” circulated in her community, isolating her from others — but Kya becomes drawn to two young men from town, opening herself to “a new and startling world.”
When one of the boys is found dead, Kya is accused by the community as the main suspect in his death.
“As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what actually happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that lay within the marsh,” the official film synopsis reads.
