Want to be in the room when ‘Hamilton’ happens at DPAC? Here’s how to get tickets.
Hoping to score tickets when “Hamilton” returns to the Triangle in 2022? Here’s how you can secure a seat at the show.
The critically acclaimed award-winning stage production is set to return to the Durham Performing Arts Center from May 17 through June 5.
Tickets for performances will go on sale Dec. 2 at 10 a.m., according to a DPAC news release.
Those hoping to attend any of the 24 performances can buy tickets online at DPACnc.com or Ticketmaster.com, and in person at 123 Vivian St. in Durham.
Prices will range from $49 to $179, with premium seats available from $199.
An additional 40 seats will be available for $10 through a lottery system, though officials did not release details about how those tickets would be distributed.
In 2018, the Broadway phenomenon saw roughly 1,000 people line up outside DPAC early one morning, all with the hopes of earning one of the few randomly distributed tickets.
All 32 performances sold out for a total attendance of more than 86,000, The N&O reported.
“Hamilton” Producer Jeffrey Seller warned people to be wary of overpriced or fraudulent tickets.
“It’s tempting to get tickets any way you can,” he said in the release. “There are many sites and people who are selling overpriced, and in some cases, fraudulent tickets. For the best seats, the best prices and to eliminate the risk of counterfeit tickets, all purchases for the DPAC engagement should be made through DPACnc.com.”
DPAC requires attendees 12 and older to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test.
