J. Cole’s inaugural Dreamville Festival, a major multi-act concert, has a new date.
The new date is April 6, 2019, at Raleigh’s Dorothea Dix Park, organizers said Friday, and it will benefit hurricane victims in the Carolinas.
Cole will headline the festival, as he had planned to when it was supposed to debut Saturday, Sept. 15, as the first major concert at Dix Park.
The lineup of performers will be announced at a later date.

Dreamville was three years in the making. Cole, a platinum rapper from Fayetteville, curated a lineup that included SZA, Young Thug, Nelly, Rapsody and others. Last month, organizers said more than 21,000 people had bought tickets.
But dire weather forecasts due to Hurricane Florence scuttled the date.
The event will benefit the Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy and Cole’s Dreamville Foundation.
The foundation has set up a campaign to assist in Hurricane Florence relief efforts around the Fayetteville vicinity — Cole’s hometown — including housing and food. Visit TheDreamvilleFoundation.org/hurricane-florence for details on how to help.
Fans who bought tickets for the original date can keep them, and they will be honored for the new date. Refunds are available if requested by Oct. 5.
“We battled with the idea of moving forward with the festival at this time or formally cancelling the event. But after receiving unwavering support from the fans and the community, we are excited to announce Dreamville Festival will now take place on April 6, 2019,” said Ibrahim “IB” Hamad, President of Dreamville Records and J. Cole’s manager, in a statement.
“We are proud to say that Dreamville this spring will also serve as a benefit to hurricane victims in the Carolinas,” Hamad said. “We hope that fans in North Carolina and across the US will not only join in celebrating the very first Dreamville Festival, but also the resilience of this amazing community.”
Tickets purchased through Ticketfly will be refunded. Those who bought tickets through a verified festival street team member or outlet, contact email@example.com. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
