What to Watch on Friday: 'Ellis Island' tells stories of immigrants' dreams of America

Ellis Island: The Dream of America (10 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) — In this Great Performances presentation, narration and visuals augment a 45-minute score by the Pacific Symphony centered around stories of immigrants from seven different nations. The first-hand stories of immigrants are dramatically interpreted by guest stars Barry Bostwick, Camryn Manheim and others.

Glow (Netflix) — Season 2 of the original series about a fictional "gorgeous ladies of wrestling" group lands on Netflix. It stars Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin and Marc Maron.

Great British Baking Show (9 p.m., PBS / UNC-TV) — The remaining 10 bakers try unusual flavor combinations for their taste Tatin, which proves to be too tough for some of the bakers.
