This Triangle shop has some of the best frozen desserts in the US, Yelp says

Looking to cool off with a frozen sweet treat? There’s one local spot that’s been named one of the best in the U.S.

As summer is coming to a close, Yelp released its list of the top shaved ice shops in every state. Luckily for local foodies, the very best in North Carolina is right here in the Triangle.

“From fluffy scoops to colorful creations piled high with toppings,” SweeTea Boba & Ice in Cary is ranked as the tastiest in the Tar Heel state based on a variety of factors, including the volume and ratings of reviews by Yelp Elite members.

“SweeTea Boba & Ice is a cheerful café offering milk teas, desserts, and a selection of icy treats. Their shaved ice is a popular pick, especially when topped with fruit, jellies, or sweetened condensed milk. Yelpers highlight the bright, inviting space and the ability to customize each order to your taste,” the Yelp report says.

The local shop, adorned with bright pink walls and decorative butterflies and blooms, has been open since November 2022.

With a wide variety of handcrafted teas, shaved ice and other Taiwanese desserts on the menu, there is a lot to choose from — even when getting a shaved ice.

There is a fresh fruit option with strawberry, mango, or both, along with a matcha red bean flavor, which you can customize with your choice of toppings.

A few other fan-favorite spots for frozen treats in the Triangle were also recently spotlighted by Yelp, The News & Observer previously reported, including Pincho Loco and Pints Ice Cream & Beer, which ranked among the top 100 ice cream shops.
