The NWS Wakefield VA released an updated beach hazards statement at 4:03 a.m. on Sunday in effect until 8 p.m. for Eastern Currituck.
"Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water," describes the NWS. "Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions."
This statement is in effect until 8 p.m.
