Wobbles, Bobbles and Scooter, puppies born without legs, have died
As 3-day-old puppies, Instagram video showed Bobble, Wobbles and Scooter already moving around. The three dogs were born without front legs and are being fostered until they reach an adoptable age, according to Cause for Paws of North Carolina.
The Raleigh-based animal rescue organization says on Facebook it took in the puppies after it was difficult for them to eat from their mom. Program Director for Cause for Paws Nicole Kincaid, who is fostering the dogs, said they are bottle-fed every few hours.
“They are absolutely a delight, and I can’t wait to see them blossom and bloom into the wonderful Chihuahua puppies that I know they are going to be,” Kincaid told The News & Observer in a phone interview.
If they’re healthy, the dogs could be up for adoption in eight to 10 weeks, according to Kincaid. In its Facebook post, Cause for Paws said it hopes the puppies receive “some wheels and live a ‘normal’ life.”
Bobble, Wobbles and Scooter are siblings and have a “genetic disorder that caused them to be born without front legs,” reports WTVD, The News & Observer’s media partner. Two other dogs in the litter were born with all four legs, Cause for Paws wrote on Facebook.
All the puppies were born Feb. 7 in Sanford after an accidental breeding, according to the Facebook post.
