Funeral arrangements for a sheriff's deputy fatally shot in a 12-hour standoff in Ohio in which another deputy was wounded have been announced.
Authorities say Detective Bill Brewer of the Clermont County Sheriff's Office was killed in the weekend standoff by a man who was barricaded in an apartment in Pierce Township, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Cincinnati. The other deputy was treated for a gunshot to his ankle.
E.C. Nurre Funeral Homes says Brewer's public visitation will be held Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mount Carmel Christian Church in Batavia. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the church, followed by a procession to Pierce Township Cemetery.
The 20-year veteran of the sheriff's office is survived by a wife and 5-year-old son.
