Three men were arrested and charged on Saturday morning in connection with a shooting death that occurred on Friday night.
Durham police arrested and charged Jamal Shamsuddeen, Aquan Pitts and Mustafa Magwood in the murder of Tequila Smith, 36, of Durham, according to a news release.
All three men are from Durham. Shamsuddeen, 23, was in a local hospital Saturday recovering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, police spokesman Wil Glenn said.
Pitts, 24, and Magwood, 20, were being held in the Durham County jail Saturday. Magwood also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The source of the gunshot wounds that Shamsuddeen and Magwood sustained is under investigation.
Durham police were called out at 9:45 p.m. Friday night to the 100 block of East Umstead Street.
There they found the body of Ms. Smith. Her body was lying outside on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to the head, police said. The incident was categorized as a drive-by shooting by investigators.
It was the second shooting in the area within minutes, according to Glenn.
Police were on the scene at 9:30 p.m. of another shooting, this one on nearby Concord Street, when the East Umstead Street report was received. On Concord Street, they found a man who had been shot in the foot.
Police did not say if the shootings were connected.
