The Durham County Sheriff’s Office has repoted that a deputy-involved accident near Stadium Drive between North Duke Street and North Roxboro Street in the Durham County Memorial Stadium area has resulted in a downed power line and rush hour traffic was being redirected.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tamara Gibbs said a deputy was involved in an accident around 4 p.m. Thursday.
She said investigators with the Sheriff’s Office were attempting to serve an arrest warrant when a suspect failed to stop and fled in a vehicle. The suspect, Curtis Marcus Hargrove, 37, of Durham, later was found and arrested, according to the spokeswman. No injuries were reported.
The pursuit ended a short time later, resulting in a traffic accident near Stadium Drive between North Duke and North Roxboro streets.

She said the wreck damaged two patrol cars and a light pole, taking down a power line.
She said no further details were available and that the North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The Durham Police Department was directing traffic at the scene.
