Police investigators are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect caught on a Michaels store’s surveillance camera.

A man wearing a white T-shirt with a baseball cap was caught on video at the Michaels store in the New Hope Commons shopping center, 5442 New Hope Commons Drive, shortly before 3 p.m. on May 11 as he shadowed a woman and her granddaughter around the store.

The little girl went to the bathroom and the man followed, police said. The little girl went into a bathroom stall when, using a cell phone, the man took a picture of the child by lowering the device below the stall wall.

Anyone who believes they may recognize the suspect or who has other information that might assist the investigation is asked to call Investigator M. T. Bynum at 919-560-4440 ext. 29328 or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
