Man charged in north Raleigh shooting that left man dead, two wounded

Police in Raleigh have arrested a man in connection with a shooting Friday night that left a man dead and two others wounded.

Raleigh police apprehended Taelyn Ladarius Jiggetts on Saturday, according to a police department news release.

Jiggets was charged with murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon, the release says.

Raleigh police responded to the report of a shooting at about 11:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of Capital Boulevard. When investigators arrived, they found Dana Lee Hopkins, who had been shot. Hopkins was transported to WakeMed, where he died from his injuries, police say.

While police were at the hospital, two more people with gunshot wounds arrived by private vehicles, the release says.

The incident remains under investigation, police say.
