Police identify dead woman found in Durham
The Durham Police Department on Saturday identified Tina Maynard, 38, as the woman who was found dead under a bridge along Latta Road in northern Durham County a day earlier.
No other details were released.
On Friday, investigators closed Latta between Guess and Roxboro roads for several hours while they searched for clues. Eventually, they sent Maynard’s body to the medical examiner’s office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy. Cause of death has yet to be announced.
Police responded to a call about the body, found near the 400 block of Latta Road, at about 11 a.m. Friday. She was found in an area not far from West Point on the Eno Park. Maynard was pronounced dead at the scene.
