Death investigation in Durham
Shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, Durham police responded to the 400 block of Latta Road and found the body of a woman beneath a bridge not far from West Point on the Eno Park. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Kammie Michael, public information officer for the Durham Police Department.
The cause of death is undetermined and the body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy. The woman's name is withheld pending notification of her family by investigators.
Police closed Latta between Guess and Roxboro roads while investigators scoured the scene for evidence.
