New: Golden Belt is welcoming a couple more tenants this week.

The mixed-use campus on East Main Street recently welcomed Bikram Yoga, a hot yoga studio that opened on Friday.

On Sept. 1, longtime Ninth Street business Dogstar Tattoo is moving to Golden Belt, along with graphic design firm Cuberis LLC, currently housed on North Duke Street.

Dogstar will move into Building 6, to the immediate right of the visitors parking lot.

Cuberis is moving into Building 2, where founder Ray Parrish said the business will double its space and look to hire more staffers. The firm, which has done work for Armadillo Grill and Duke, is moving from its home in former tobacco warehouses to 1,364 square feet at Golden Belt.

The firm is hiring on its website, www.cuberis.com. For information, call (919) 683-5522.

Blair Graham and Lee Clyburn of Grubb & Ellis Thomas Linderman Graham represented the tenant. Michael Gribble of Scientific Properties represented the landlord in the transaction.

The Bull City Connector recently opened, offering a straight connection from Golden Belt to the city center area and to Duke. Buzz is curious to see what other businesses will be opening there soon.

Filling up: The 1000 W. Main St. building that's drawing fashionistas to chic boutiques is filling up upstairs as well.

Reynolds Maxwell, president of Headwall Development and owner of the building, announced this week that international development firm The Futures Group is moving from Meridian Parkway to take the entire second floor.

The company will move into the 4,057-square-foot space Oct. 1.

The new lease brings the building to 100 percent occupied, with retail in the first floor and second floor office use.

The building, in the Brightleaf Square area, was built in 1925 and housed the Ivy Room restaurant for many years. Maxwell began redeveloping it in 2007 and finished construction in January of this year.

The building was recently awarded the Historic Preservation Society's Neighborhood Conservation Award and is currently being considered for the Gold Leaf Award.

The Futures Group, headquartered in Washington, D.C., provides development solutions worldwide and manages programs in HIV and AIDS, reproductive health, family planning and infectious diseases, among others.

The first floor of 1000 W. Main St. is occupied by Uniquities, Fifi's Fine Resale Apparel and Nomadic Trading Co.

New at Northgate: A Sea of Learning has opened in Northgate Mall.

The educational store, which first opened in 2007 in the Renaissance Center at Southpoint, is adding its second location in the mall.

The store specializes in creative educational materials and classroom decorations, including art materials, science kits and toys for babies and toddlers, and will eventually offer storytimes and an individualized tutoring program.

For information, call (919) 286-2522 or go to www.aseaoflearning.com.

Also at Northgate, Cute As A Button has moved from their kiosk to an in-line store just across from Bath & Body.
