Tax office mails 2010 tax bills

Durham -- Durham County residents will begin to receive their 2010 real estate and personal property tax bills from the Durham County Tax Administration Office next week.

Once taxpayers receive their tax bills, payments should be mailed to P.O. Box 30090, Durham, NC 27702. Residents are advised to pay all taxes on or before Jan. 5 to avoid interest and additional collection costs.

Instructions on how to pay by using e-services is on the top portion of the tax bill. Information about e-services is also available on the Tax Administration website at tax.durhamcountync.gov.

Once on the site, taxpayers should follow the link for online tax payments. Tax bills may be posted online before they arrive in the mail.

Residents who need to make installments on their 2010 real and personal property tax bill can send payments from August until December.

For information regarding the 2010 tax bill, call the Durham County's Tax Call Center at 919-560-0300. Taxpayers may obtain tax bill information and parcel information by visiting the Durham County Tax Administration website to select the tax payment link.
