HILLSBOROUGH -- Do you know how many buildings the Orange County Public Library has been in before it landed at its present site at the new two-story building at 137 West Margaret Lane?
Did you know that where the Orange County Historical Museum now stands was once the site of two library buildings?
Find out those facts and learn more about the history of the library at a special exhibit, "Celebrating 100 Years of Service: The Orange County Public Library," opening later this month at the Orange County Historical Museum.
Celebrating 100 Years of Service uses photos, quilts and text to bring to life the 100 years of the library serving the Hillsborough community. Displays discuss the history of the library and how it continues to bring the community together with its outreach programs.
The exhibit opens July 23 and runs through October. Admission to the exhibit and the Orange County Historical Museum at 201 N. Churton St. in downtown Hillsborough is free of charge.
