DURHAM -- The Durham Affordable Housing Coalition with support from Imagine Durham: Durham's Results Based Accountability Initiative will host an affordable housing summit at the Durham Public Schools Staff Development Center, 2107 Hillandale Road, on June 30.
Faith, community, non-profit agencies, service organizations and individuals interested in working with or supporting affordable housing are invited to attend.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and speakers and workshops will be featured throughout the day.

Reading event to feature blues
DURHAM-- Children, teens and adults can sing and play blues music with local musical talents including vocalist Lois Deloatch, drummer Pete Joyner, keyboardist Bobby Hinton and guitarist John Dee Holman on Sunday from 2-5:30 p.m.
The free, public event will be held at the East Regional Library, 211 Lick Creek Lane, in conjunction with the library's Summer Reading Club, and guests can sign up for the program on site. The afternoon will also feature Marc Lee, host of WCOM community radio's "Juke Joint" program and DJ Ron "Big E" Eldridge, and will include a craft for children and Wii Guitar Hero. Light refreshments will be served.
The library's Summer Reading Club engages more than 10,000 children in programs and activities that encourage them to read every day.
'Harry Potter' screening set
OXFORD --The Downtown Oxford Economic Development Corporation in partnership with Granville Health System will be screening "Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince" on Main Street in Oxford at 9 p.m. Thursday.
The town's first movie night of the summer is free and open to the public.
The Lions Club will run concession stands, which, along with a giant slide, will open at 8 p.m.
Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs and flashlights.

Roundtable lunch scheduled
DURHAM -- The Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham invites the public to a free Community Luncheon Roundtable from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Shepherd's House United Methodist Church, 107 N. Driver St.
Lunch is provided free.
Scott Holmes, a local criminal defense attorney and member of the Durham Friends Meeting, will share his thoughts on causes of violent crime in Durham and what can be done to reduce it.
