The Doughman, a charity quadrathlon that combines food and exercise in Durham, will return on Saturday with 70 registered teams ready for relay race that will test their appetites and endurance.
The race will start from Local Yogurt at 8 a.m., criss-cross through the city, include meals from seven restaurants, and finish at the historic Durham Athletic Park around 10:30 a.m. Every member of a team is required to eat at a restaurant and then perform an exercise, such as running, biking or possibly a swim.
And this year, two celebrity contestants will be in the race. Ed Brantley and Heba Salama, winners from the reality television show, "The Biggest Loser," will be there along with teammates Daniel Wright and Rebecca Meyer from Season 8 of the show. The Doughman race is part of Brantley and Salama's "10 in 2010" fitness campaign to participate in 10 or more races and triathlons.
Various events will be hosted at the DAP throughout the day for the Doughman. Radio station 96 Rock will be broadcasting from the park in the morning. At night, the Doughman hEArTS Durham Community Banquet will include food, drink and musical performances.
The event, now in its third year, has had other celebrity participants in the past. Adam Richman, host of the Travel Channel show, "Man v. Food," was in the race last year with "Team Food Fighters."
The quadrathlon raises money for the Durham Inner-city Gardeners (DIG), a nonprofit that teaches kids about organic farming, and SeeSaw Studios, mentoring creative youths on entrepreneurship in the creative fields.

Pops expanding: Call it Locopints.
Locopops, the popular gourmet pops purveyor in Durham, has added ice cream and sorbet to its menu after years of selling solely pops.
Summer Bicknell, founder of Locopops, studied with the Penn State Creamery Ice Cream School in early 2010 to learn to make ice cream from scratch. The school has been teaching students how to make ice cream from "cow to cone" since 1895.
Locopints are now offered first in Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream and Mojito Sorbet, with additional "Guest Stars" available weekly.
