DURHAM --The Durham Farmers' Market's mid-week market starts today. The mid-week market will be open every Wednesday from 3:30-6:30 p.m. through the end of September. The market is in the Pavilion at Durham Central Park, 501 Foster St.
Today, Muriel Williman, from Orange County Solid Waste Management, will be conducting a composting demonstration from 4-5:30 p.m. Learn the basics of outdoor composting using manufactured or home-made bins, and indoor composting using worms.
The Durham Farmers' Market is an all local, producer only farmers market. Visitors may find fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, cheeses, baked goods, gluten free foods, honey, and local crafts. The market offers cooking demonstrations, educational events and live music. The market also is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
The market accepts the Women, Infants and Childrens program's Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons, and Senior vouchers.
