City offices to close April 2 for Good Friday

DURHAM -- Most city of Durham offices will be closed April 2 for Good Friday.

Note the following changes in city services:

- The Department of Solid Waste Management will be closed April 2. There are no changes to either the recycling or garbage collection schedules. Collections for yard waste and bulky items on April 2 will instead occur on April 5. For more information, visit www.durhamnc.gov/departments/solid.

- The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center (Transfer Station) will be closed April 2-3. It will reopen under its normal schedule on April 5. For more information, visit www.durhamnc.gov/departments/solid/wr_transfer.cfm.

- The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed April 2-3. It will reopen under its normal schedule on April 6. For more information, visit www.durhamnc.gov/departments/solid/hazardous_waste.cfm.

- On April 2, Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) and ACCESS will operate on its normal schedule in which service is provided from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. However, DATA's administration office will be closed on April 2 and will reopen under its normal schedule on April 5. - Durham Parks and Recreation will close its administrative office, all recreation centers, and all neighborhood centers on April 2. DPR's recreation centers will operate under normal schedules on April 3, but will be closed April 4. City lakes will be open regular hours April 2-5. - Durham One Call will be closed on April 2. However, residents may complete an online service request by visiting www.durhamnc.gov/departments/onecall or leaving a message with Durham One Call's after-hours answering service. All requests will be forwarded to Durham One Call the next business day.
