GREENSBORO -- Duke and North Carolina placed two players apiece on the All-ACC teams, which were announced by the league Monday.

The Blue Devils' Jasmine Thomas was named first-team All-ACC, while teammate Joy Cheek was selected for the third team. The Tar Heels' Italee Lucas was picked for the second team All-ACC and Cetera DeGraffenreid made the third team.

Thomas, a junior guard, is averaging a team-best 15.7 points and has led the No. 9 Blue Devils to a 24-5 record, including 12-2 in the ACC. With her selection to the first team, the Blue Devils have placed at least one player on the first-team All-ACC team in 11 of the past 12 years.

The first team also consisted of Virginia's Monica Wright, who was named All-ACC for the fourth straight year, Miami's Shenise Johnson, Florida State's Jacinta Monroe and Boston College's Carolyn Swords.

It was Lucas' first time being named All-ACC and the junior guard is averaging a team-high 15.4 points. She has scored at least 20 points eight times this season.

Joining Lucas on the second team were Lele Hardy (Clemson), Courtney Ward (Florida State), Brigitte Ardossi (Georgia Tech) and Riquana Wlliams (Miami).

DeGraffenreid, a junior guard, was named third-team All-ACC for the second consecutive year and she leads the Tar Heels in assists (147) and steals (87).

Cheek is the Blue Devils' second-leading scorer with 10 points per game and top rebounder with 6.1 rebounds a game. The senior forward is also one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior Class Award.

Also on the third team were Alex Montgomery (Georgia Tech), Lynetta Kizer (Maryland) and Secily Ray (Wake Forest).

N.C. State's Bonae Holston, along with Boston College's Stefanie Murphy, Maryland's Lori Bjork, Virginia Tech's Utahya Drye and Wake Forests' Brittany Waters, were named honorable mentions.

The ACC tournament begins Thursday at the Greensboro Coliseum as eighth-seeded UNC will face ninth-seeded Maryland at 3 p.m. The winner of that game will face top-seeded Duke at 3 p.m. on Friday.
