HIGHS POINT -- Zoe Vernon scored a game-high 19 points, leading Carolina Friends School past Calvary Baptist 41-39 for the TAC girls' conference championship Saturday night at Westchester Academy.
Vernon, named the conference Most Valuable Player, added eight rebounds.
Esther Cohn and Jamilah Watson each were named to the all-conference first team. Cohn scored eight points and Watson added seven. Jada Decreney-Jackson led Calvary Baptist with 14 points.
CFS coach Patience Vanderbush was named TAC coach of the year. Carolina Friends hosts a state first-round matchup at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
