Volunteers sought for adjustment panel
HILLSBOROUGH -- The Town of Hillsborough is recruiting volunteers to serve on the Board of Adjustment.
Volunteers are needed to fulfill the unexpired term of one in-town regular member and the expired term of one in-town alternate member.
The Board of Adjustment works with the town's zoning ordinance in reviewing conditional-use permits, special exception permits and variances from the ordinance. The board also hears appeals from decisions of the town's planning staff.
Members serve three-year terms and meet monthly as needed at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.
Additional information about the board may be found on the town's Web site. Click on the Board of Adjustment link, located on the Boards and Commissions page under Town Government.
A volunteer application may be completed online. A link to the application is on the right side of the Board of Adjustment page as well as the Boards and Commissions page. Copies of the application also may be picked up in the town clerk's office on the Town Hall campus, 101 E. Orange St. Completed applications will stay on file for future vacancies.
