Moncure man, 21, faces drug charges

PITTSBORO -- A Moncure man is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on March 8 to answer drug charges and use of a house to sell them.

Gerrall Dangelo Johnson, 21, of 7454 Pittsboro Moncure Road, Moncure, was arrested without incident last week and jailed under a $1,000 secured bond after a search warrant was executed by the Chatham County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit and Special Incident Response Team at Johnson's home. The warrant was served after information was received about illegal drug interactions at the residence.

During the search, deputies seized 3.7 grams of cocaine, less than an ounce of marijuana and a .32 caliber handgun. As a result, Johnson was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony maintaining of dwelling for controlled substances, felony possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
