DURHAM -- The Durham Public Library's main branch, 300 N
DURHAM -- The Durham Public Library's main branch, 300 N. Roxboro St., will host a forum of potential school board candidates at 7 p.m. Monday.
The event will be held in the library's first floor auditorium.
The session is open to the public and in particular to people interested in running for seats on the school board or recruiting candidates to run for them.
Mike Ashe, director of the Durham County Board of Elections, and school board members will be on hand to talk about what's involved with running for and serving on the school board.
Deadline to file to run for the school board -- single seats in Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be contested this year -- opens at noon, Feb. 8, and concludes at noon, Feb. 26.
The election is May 4.
