Kardashian granted restraining order vs. man

LOS ANGELES -- Kim Kardashian has obtained a temporary restraining order against a man she describes as "extremely delusional," court records show.

Kardashian's attorneys obtained a stay-away order Tuesday against Dennis Shaun Bowman, 26. It prohibits Bowman from trying to contact the reality television star in any way, including via Twitter.

Kardashian, 29, is a celebrity model and pitchwoman and stars in the E! series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." Her filings state Bowman has repeatedly showed up her appearances, sometimes in facepaint depicting him as the Joker character from "Batman" fame.

She sought the order after Bowman allegedly ignored cease-and-desist letters from her attorney and orders from Los Angeles police to stop pursuing her.

According to the filing, Bowman told Kardashian that he is interested in a romantic relationship and sends her numerous messages a day, saying they are in love and will get married.

Winfrey to interview Jay Leno, wants to talk with O'Brien

CHICAGO -- Oprah Winfrey said she is set to interview Jay Leno, and her production company said an offer has been made to Conan O'Brien to appear.

Winfrey said on her talk show Friday that she was going to Los Angeles for a "one-on-one" interview with Leno to air on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Thursday. O'Brien's appearance has not yet been confirmed, Harpo Productions said.

The Leno interview comes as O'Brien exits "The Tonight Show," allowing Leno to return to the late-night program he hosted for 17 years. O'Brien's final show was Friday. Leno will return to "Tonight" on March 1.

Judge rules that Polanski must return to U.S. for case

LOS ANGELES -- Director Roman Polanski lost his bid Friday to be sentenced without returning to the U.S. when a judge ruled the director must be present in court if he wants to resolve his 32-year-old sex case.

Reiterating Polanski was a fugitive from justice, Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza said he was acting to protect "the dignity of the court."

Bart Dalton, a lawyer for Polanski, said the ruling would be appealed.

Before the hearing, the judge provided lawyers with his 11-page tentative decision denying the request by the 76-year-old Polanski, who fled the U.S. in 1978 after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

Lawyers Chad Hummel, who represents Polanski, and Lawrence Silver, who represents victim Samantha Geimer, tried to convince Espinoza to change his mind.

But Espinoza cited a law that says someone who flees is not entitled to the processes of the court unless they return. The judge also cited the length of time Polanski had been a fugitive and the deterrent factor for others who might consider fleeing to escape justice.

Deputy District Attorney David Walgren argued vehemently against Polanski's bid to be sentenced without returning to this country from Switzerland, where he is under house arrest and fighting extradition.

Polanski was initially accused of plying the 13-year-old girl with champagne and part of a Quaalude pill then raping her at Jack Nicholson's house.

Polanski was indicted on six felony counts.
