n "I, Too, Sing America" will take place at 6:30 p.m. This year's program will commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream as people reflect upon the many cultures that have been touched by his legacy. Langston Hughes' poem "I, Too, Sing America" marks a slave's pride in his heritage and his vision of a day when all prejudice is put aside and equality is reached. It will be a celebration in which groups will explain how far they have come in American society and how far they still have to go to attain the American Dream. n The Carolina Inn's popular end-of-the-workweek Shake Your Winter Blues Series celebration takes place in the Carolina Crossroads Bar from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Mick Mixon, the voice of the Carolina Panthers and former color analyst for Tar Heel basketball and football, returns to Chapel Hill to perform with his band Franklin Street. n Deep Dish Theater will celebrate the first anniversary of its Words to Music, the Songwriters Up Close Series, at 8 p.m. with an intimate night of acoustic performances which will feature local mainstays Dex Romweber, John Howie, Jr. and Holly Harding Baddour.
