DURHAM -- New China restaurant at 121 Sherron Road was robbed Monday, and police are asking for information about it.
Two men armed with guns entered the business shortly after noon, pointed a gun at an employee's head and demanded money, according to police spokeswoman Kammie Michael. The suspects forced employees and a customer to the floor and punched and kicked two employees in their faces and heads.
One suspect was described as black, in his 20s, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build. He was wearing a black hoodie. The second suspect was described black, in his 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a slender build and a mustache and goatee.

Thefts reported
DURHAM -- Diamond rings and a three-foot machete were among property stolen in a home burglary Thursday in the 3700 block of Guess Road. Also taken were three computers, a sapphire ring, five bracelets, a watch, a necklace, a horseshoe ring and a cell phone. The total value of the items was $10,725.
In other crime reported to police:
- A silver dining set, jewelry, computers and stainless steel items valued at a combined $11,100 were taken from a home in the 3900 block of Wynford Drive Jan. 5.
- Thieves took a laptop computer, digital camera, Sony PlayStation 2, CD player, three gold bracelets and earrings valued at a combined $1,170 from a home in the 2100 block of Peppertree Street Thursday.
- Burglars hit a home in the 1400 block of Woodland Drive Thursday and took a laptop computer, two external hard drives, jewelry, wallets and a digital camera valued at a combined $2,781.
