CHAPEL HILL -- The North Carolina football team is benefiting from the sudden coaching departure of Lane Kiffin from Tennessee to Southern California.

Defensive lineman Brandon Willis, a four-star recruit from Duncan, S.C., signed a scholarship agreement and enrolled in classes at UNC on Wednesday a team spokesman confirmed.

Willis, who stands at 6-2 and 255 pounds, was verbally committed to the Vols but switched his commitment when he found out Kiffin was headed to USC.

Willis was a U.S. Army All-American and was the nation's 8th-ranked defensive tackle according to Scout.com. He was also looking at UCLA and Miami.
