DURHAM -- Billy Cox, who played bass with Jimi Hendrix on the now legendary "Band of Gypsys" release, will headline the Experience Hendrix Tour, which will come to the Durham Performing Arts Center March 28.
The tour will visit 18 cities across the country, bringing the music and legacy of Hendrix to fans. Artists who will join Cox are Joe Satriani, Sacred Steel, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ernie Isley, Brad Whitford, Doyle Bramhall II, Living Colour and Chris Layton.

Rock group Chicago coming to DPAC
DURHAM -- Chicago, the legendary rock band with horns, and one of the best-selling and longest-running American bands, will perform at the Durham Performing Arts Center May 18.
Since forming in 1967, Chicago has become one of the best-loved and most successful rock groups. They were first known for using jazz-influenced horn lines in a rock setting, but later developed a more commercial pop sound.
They have amassed a big catalog of hits, among them "If You Leave Me Now," "You're the Inspiration," and "Look Away," as well as radio staples such as "25 or 6 to 4" and "Make Me Smile."
Tickets go on sale Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices start at $36 and can be purchased at the DPAC Ticket Center, 680-2787, and online at DPACnc.com. Tickets are also available through Ticketmaster outlets: FYE and Lowes Foods.
Thorogood at Carolina Theatre
DURHAM -- George Thorogood and The Destroyers will perform at the Carolina Theatre in Durham at 7:30 p.m. March 23. Thorogood, known for "Bad to the Bone," and "Move It On Over," brings his slide guitar and gritty vocals to the stage for an evening of blues and rock music.

Roots-rock band Train to perform
DURHAM -- Train, known for their roots-rock sound, storytelling lyrics and chart-topping singles "Meet Virginia," and "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)," will perform at 8 p.m. March 10 at the Carolina Theatre in Durham.
Over the course of 15 years, Train has made a giant impression on music history with their Grammy Award-winning song "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" and chart-topping singles "Meet Virginia" and "Calling All Angels." Three of the band's albums have peaked in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and have sold a total of more than 4 million copies in the U.S.

Glee club concert at St. Stephens
The UNC Mens Glee Club, with director Daniel M. Huff and pianist Frank Pittman, will be the next guest artists for the St. Stephens Concert Series Sunday at 4 p.m. The program is titled "Visions of Endings: Irony, Tragedy, Triumph and Hijinks" and will consist of a wide range of pieces from medieval through contemporary times.
The concert will be preceded by an interview with Huff by Joseph Kitchen at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $15 at the door, free to children under 18 years.

Keaton classic at Century Center
CARRBORO -- Century Center Cinema will present Buster Keaton's silent classic film, "Steamboat Bill, Jr." Saturday at 7 p.m. at Carrboro's Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St.
In this film, a young dandy (Buster Keaton) gets caught in the midst of a feud between his father, Steamboat Bill Sr. (Ernest Torrence), and rival riverboat proprietor J.J. King (Tom McGuire). As Bill Sr. goes about toughening up his foppish son, Junior is busy falling for King's daughter (Marion Byron).
Doors for the screening open at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $4, with free popcorn and soda.
