CLEMSON, S.C. — The North Carolina men’s basketball team was on its way to a shootaround this afternoon when a car hit the team bus in a parking lot.
No one was injured, although team spokesman Steve Kirschner said the car got banged up a little bit.
“No one was hurt and it delayed us about five minutes,” Kirschner said.
The players posted their reaction on Twitter with Justin Watts tweeting “We are on the way to shootaround and this girl at Clemson trys to take the bus out.”
No. 13 UNC will face No. 24 Clemson tonight at Littlejohn Coliseum (9 p.m., ESPN).
The Tar Heels also found out Wednesday afternoon they will be without sophomore Tyler Zeller, who is being held out for precautionary reasons due to soreness in his right foot. Zeller, the team’s fourth-leading scorer with 9.6 points a game, will have his foot examined when the team returns to Chapel Hill on Thursday.
