DURHAM — At the end of each year when influxes of people visit the Durham County Tax Administration Department to pay their property tax bills on time, many are met by long lines and extreme wait times.
The deadline to pay property taxes is Tuesday. In light of the approaching deadline, the county’s Tax Administration Department reminds residents that there are multiple options for payment as an alternative to in-person payments.
Options to speed up the tax payment process include payment by telephone, online with a credit card, or by mail to the address provided on the tax bill. Details on how to pay with a credit card are available on the county’s Tax Administration Web site — http://www.durhamcountync.gov/departments/txad/.
