LOGTECH has new graduates

CHAPEL HILL — The LOGTECH MBA Program recognized its fourth class of graduates last week at the Army Navy Club in Washington, D.C. Vice Admiral Alan S. Thompson, director of the Defense Logistics Agency, delivered the commencement address. The two-year LOGTECH MBA program earns graduates a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a logistics focus. U.S. Army Materiel Command is the DoD Executive Agent for the program.

The Center of Excellence in Logistics and Technology (LOGTECH), managed by the Institute for Defense and Business (IDB), collaborates with two of the nation’s leading business schools — Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School — to deliver the LOGTECH MBA, a unique online and residential MBA program with a concentration in defense logistics.

This program provides a select class of professional logisticians — from all the military services, as well as government agencies, and the private sector — with an educational experience focused on current business concepts and logistics practices. These students work together jointly to master the global business knowledge and leadership skills needed in today’s complex, globally responsive organizations. This partnership provides both military and corporate participants with a focused and dynamic professional development opportunity.

The 2009 LOGTECH MBA class attended one-week sessions in Chapel Hill on three separate occasions and traveled together throughout Asia for a 10-day study residency.
