City of Durham closings ...
DURHAM -- Most City of Durham offices will be closed today for Thanksgiving. Residents are asked to take note of the following changes in city services:
n The Department of Solid Waste Management said collection for Thursday customers that was not scheduled on Thanksgiving Day -- including solid waste and red zone recycling -- will take place today.
Customers who normally have their bulky item and yard waste collections on Thursdays will have it moved to today.
Customers who normally have their bulky item and yard waste collections on Fridays will have theirs collected on Monday.

n The Waste Disposal and Recycling Center -- Transfer Station -- will be open today and Monday but closed Saturday.

n The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed through Saturday. It will open under its normal schedule on Tuesday.

n On Thursday, Durham Area Transit Authority's administration office is closed today and will reopen under its normal schedule on Monday.

n Durham Parks and Recreation has closed its administrative office, all recreation centers, all neighborhood centers and all indoor rental sites through today. The recreation centers, indoor pools and programs will operate under their regular weekend schedules Saturday and Sunday. The administrative office will reopen under its normal schedule on Monday.

n Durham One Call will be closed today. However, residents may complete an online service request by visiting the city's Web site at www.durhamnc.gov/departments/onecall or by leaving a message with Durham One Call's after-hours answering service. All requests will be forwarded to Durham One Call on Monday.
